As you know, we want all children to be in school all of the time, however, bad weather can make absence unavoidable. We will always do everything we can to ensure that the school is open, but the safety of us all getting to school and being able to move around the school must be paramount. The fact that the gritters do not come past the school also causes an additional issue.
Here is a reminder of what happens in the unlikely event that we need to close the school. We will use the following means of communication to let you know:
We will use Homeconnect to send you all a text and email if we have the appropriate details for you - please make sure we have your current contact information.
We will post a message on the school web-site. (However, please bear in mind that if the web-site is heavily used you may only see an old image of the site.)
We will post a message on www.kentclosures.co.uk, where schools in Kent advertise closures.
The same list will be used by local radio stations too, which should ensure the message is put out on BBC Radio Kent, Heart and KMFM.
If you do not hear that the school is closed by one of these means, assume it is open for business as usual, but take extra care on your journey.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
