Dandelion time is a wonderful local charity providing support to young people and their families, where children and families have been through challenging times, dandelion times works to rebuild relationships and make new memories. 

 

Dandelion Time gives children and families time and space to love&trust again.
Time to heal from emotional trauma and abuse.
Time to rebuild confidence and strengthen relationships.
And time to develop skills and aspirations for a brighter future.

 

Dandelion Time works with the child and the wider family, believing that family relationships and bonds are vital in helping a child overcome their difficulties and are often a key factor in their issues. Bringing together members of the family (and on occasion professionals and others important to the child) allows family relationships to be fostered and, with the guidance and encouragement of supportive and skilled therapeutic staff,  helps to build self-respect, empathy and positive communication.

 

Dandelion Time’s core programme is most suitable for children and young people aged 7-13 and for whom experience of trauma is past rather than on-going.  The core therapeutic programme runs for between 10 and 15 weeks, with the referred child/children attending weekly half-day sessions with a primary carer(s) in term time only.
