Our School Rules
At Laddingford we have just 3 expectations which must be met at all times, by everyone.
Christian Values
At Laddingford St. Mary's CEP School we aspire for all children to become confident individuals with a broad range of skills which they can apply independently and with great enjoyment to all areas of the curriculum. We endeavour for our pupils to feel valued and cared for within our nurturing, Christian school community. To help make this vision a reality we have 4 core Christian values that underpin the ethos of the school and play an important part in developing children's character and positive learning behaviours. These are:
With God by our side, we learn grow and play.
As a Church of England primary school we are committed to ensuring that our core Christian values of compassion, peace, trust and endurance underpin all that we do.
Through an understanding of compassion, all members of the school community recognise and celebrate difference and diversity, are kind in words and actions and support one another to overcome challenges.
Through the development of trust, staff can undertake effective professional development, by sharing good practice and non-judgemental peer support. Children can confide in teachers and each other, safe in the knowledge they will always be listened to, helped and supported. Everyone feels confident to take risks and make the mistakes vital to learning and development.
By focusing on the importance of endurance, children and staff are developing an understanding of mind set, and how this can help on their journey to success. Everyone strives for excellence, for the high levels of attainment and positive learning behaviours that will open doors for our children in the future.
Through an understanding of peace, all members of the community can work together as one. Exploration of inner peace, encourages children to look inwardly to find happiness, being independent and confident without seeking external validation.
Children leave Laddingford as well rounded individuals, who attain highly and have a well-developed character and sense of personal identity and responsibility. Through this they are able to move on to the next stage of their journey; happy, independent, confident and able to achieve their full potential.
British Values
We recognise and celebrate the diverse society which our children are entering into. We actively promote British values in a range of ways, including challenging opinions or behaviours that are contrary to them. These British values (as defined by the Department for Education) are:
These values are taught through PSHE, through stand alone topic/projects such as the school election and as part of our wider commitment to teaching our school values; to ensure that at Laddingford, everyone feels heard, represented, respected and valued.
