Paint the picture (create your own grey city-scape to feature in the story)

Illustrations (drawings) can really help set the mood of the story and help bring the writers words to life. Some books have brightly coloured illustrations and others are all in black and white. Readers can also use pictures to give them clues about the story.

Cityscape art by LS Lowry (famous artist)

Activity

Create your own grey-tone cityscape images to go with the text. You could use pens, colouring pencils, paint or make a multi-media picture using pages from old books or newspapers. Remember to mainly use only black, grey, brown, blue and white.

Challenge

Start making your own book - write your own version of the story so far alongside your illustrations. You might want to check out the 'setting the scene' task for ideas on what to write.
