In the hot seat (what is each character really thinking?)

A key skill of any reader is really getting to know a character and think about how they might be feeling in different parts of the story. Everybody acts, thinks and feels differently and it is really interesting to use what you know about a character to decide what they might do - for example a hero would choose to save the world - but would a villain make the same choices?

Activity

Think about this image above. Who is the hero and who is the villain? What do you think they are thinking at this moment? Chose one of the characters and write some thought bubbles about what they are thinking around the image. If you are feeling really adventurous you could do both! Remember to read back through the story so far to help you decide what they might be thinking.

Challenge

Write a diary entry as one of the characters about what happened on this day and how they felt. Don't forget to use the writing checklist to make sure you are showing off everything you can do.
