Water on Tap (Build a traditional African Tippy Tap in your garden)

In the African countryside, many families do not have running water. Instead they fetch the water from a nearby well, lake or river and store it in containers for when they need to use it. Most will build a tippy tap outside their house so they can easily wash their hands without using too much water. They are a bit tricky to use at first (Miss Coleman has fallen over when trying to use one!) but once you get the hang of them they are easy to use.

Activity

Follow the instruction text to make your own tippy tap in your garden.

Challenge

Write your own set of instructions for how to use a Tippy-tap.

Don't forget to:

- Number your instructions.

- Write in full sentences with capital letters and full stops.

- Use words such as first, second, next, then.
