Free Early Education for 3 and 4 year old - how it works

All children are entitled to 15 hours of free nursery education from the term after their third birthday in line with the current government offer.

We also offer the working parents additional funding for both 3 and 4 year old children (30 hours).

For example:

  • A child turns 3 between 1st September and 31st December, can access funding from the start of term 3 (January).
  • A child turns 3 between 1st January and 31st March, can access funding from the start of term 5 (April).
  • A child turns 3 between 1st April and 31st August, can access funding from the start of term 1 (September).

We admit children into the Nursery in September, and if places are available, we will admit children in January and April.

For more information, and how to apply please see here.

30 Hours of Free Childcare

A child qualifies for the extended entitlement if both parents are working (or the sole parent in a lone parent family is working) and each parent earns, on average, a weekly minimum equivalent to 16 hours (National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage) and less than £100k a year. For more information please see here.

Tax-Free Childcare

We are an approved childcare provider through the government's Tax-free Childcare Scheme. Through this, you can receive up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the cost of childcare. For more information, please visit www.gov.uk/tax-free-childcare.
